Nobody really disappointed me at my first WMC. I think I got lucky with the parties I chose. I would have liked to see all three members of above and beyond show up at nocturnal, but oh well.
On the impressive side: I really enjoyed satoshi tommeii at shine on wednesday..... and Markus Schulz for 5 hours at Parkwest was amazing!!! |

Gui Boratto doing his live set at Studio A. Wow. This thing just kept picking up until the transition into Boys Noize was seamless. Very nice.
Simian Mobile Disco later during the night completely blew me away. Destroyed the entire club. Seriously.
Boys Noize the same night was awesome as well. Was the third time in three days I saw him and it was the best one. He even set the speaker on fire!
Digitalism at The Raleigh was good but I wanted more volume.
Sasha and Three at The Grass Lounge were good but having technical probs and nowhere near as good as Hyde Park in Feb.
Zabiela. |

I agree entirely. There were no really bad sets that I heard and I was very satisfied with most of the events I went to. Some like The Kingdom event on wed had a sparse crowd, especially earlier in the night, but the talent was excellent.
...and I wish I was able to stay for Markus' full set, but had to leave at 6:30Am, while he still had 1 hr 30mins left... Would love to be able to get the full set. It was pure sickness...Markus blew me away! :D
OK, maybe the only disappointment was Ferry at Space right after Sander Van Doorn. Just was not a good mix. Their style are just too different and if you love Sander, you aren't really going to care much for Ferry. I immediately headed for the Terrace when Ferry came on... |

I had never heard Riche Hawtin before WMC this year, only heard things about him.
Had the chance to see him at the Beatport pool party, and he ing sucked. The tracks weren't amazing, but they weren't bad either...but he kept doing the same with the bass! He wouldn't let the bass stay on any one track for more than 5-10 seconds before cutting it out for another 20 seconds, build-up, bass on for 5-10, cut it out. WHAT THE ! He did this the whole damn set. Most annoying ever. |
Sounds like Morillo :toothless
Blew me away: Sander Van Doorn @ Space, Paolo Mojo & Prydz @ Space.
Dissapointed: Ferry @ Space. Hard to go on after SVD lol. Not bad, but not wow |

I'm assuming you meant at the Wave Music night on Tuesday? If Radio Slave played at Kompakt I'm gonna shoot myself... |

Kabuto & Koji - I'd never heard of them before their opening set for Burridge @ Pawn Shop. Threw it down pretty proper.
Dixon @ Sunday School - excellent programming, creativity, great mixing. Crowd was eating it up.
Pan-Pot @ Townhouse. Sebo and Anja were good as well but Pan-Pot were the best there IMO.
Wasn't really disappointed by anything I heard this weekend. Arpiar Orchestra's set @ Sunday School was kind of sleepier than I was looking for after Dixon so that was kind of disappointing I guess? |

They never made it, heard they got their Visas denied. It was Buttrich who was putting you to sleep, or Beyer/Mull but I'm sure you wouldve noticed Beyer. |

Ahh yeah then it was Buttrich. Either Dixon's last track / Buttrich's first track had the levels unbearably high so I went inside for a bit and at that point we decided to take off. |

Shoot yourself. :p He replaced Eulberg who apparently has tinnitus. He had a far better crowd to work with than the wave party, and it showed through his set, ing awesome.
@ Bobby, Buttrich imo took a while to get going but I lost it when he played Programmer. The vocals in that track and the tune itself with that florida breeze, big puffy white clouds, bright sun and a million friends around made it amazing.
Btw, the little I do remember of burridge barrage was that Kabuto & Koji layed it DOWN. I have purchased some of their tunes before but never heard a set, good . |
