got to studio a around 11:30... the place was empty. i dont know who was opening but i was bored out of my mind for the entire hour and a half of his opening set. the worst house set ive ever heard.

finally around 1am nic fanciulli finally came on. i was excited that maybe the music was going to get better. ehhh... i was wrong. nics set sucked my ass. ive only seen nic once before at space in july 2005, and what he played at studio a was nothing like his space set from years prior. there was a couple nice breakdowns in his set but the thing that bothered me is he only worked with ONE baseline the entire time! PFFT PFFT PFFT PFFT... it was such a simplistic 1-2 baseline i was going nuts.

was about to walk out at 2:45 when james finally showed up. he came on and totally saved the night. killed it right off the bat. no idea what he played, but it was so awesome. killed the efx machine, was scratching like a madman and just jumping up and down killing it. you know the saying "last night a dj saved my life," well he didnt save my life, but he saved my night. i was gonna be so pissed about this event, but after seeing zabi kill it, it was okay.

oh and i totally thought nic + james were gonna tag-team or some . guess not. :( was looking forward to that and it never happened.

there were A LOT of in banged up people there though... everywhere you look youd see someone who was a deer caught in headlights. most of the people were cool but there were a few sterioded up mother******s who just pushed tiny ass girls outta the way when trying to get to the bathroom. i swear, i hate those kinda mother******s.

oh also forgot to the mention the sound system...

bleeeeh... they brought in some extra power i guess for wmc, but they stacked all the speakers in the front! there was virtually no sound coming from the back. really unbalanced. and way too loud. thank god i had my earplugs but it was still too loud for me. i would say a good 90% of the sound was coming from the front. no balance what so ever.

Should have stuck around for Get Lost 3. I'm still trying to gather the pieces from that morning. Damian Lazarus & Piere Bucci in one night...Can't tell you how many times I almost threw up on the dancefloor.

I haven't heard music that good since an Ibiza trip in 2005 @ DC10.

Hope Studio A's cleaning crew finds the remains of my head's contents. Sending them overnight, sig required, w/ insurance would be greatly apprecieated.

Just when I thought things were done getting messy I realize I have the Odyssey yacht party in a few hours, Hope @ Shine, and then on to Sunday School.

Heads down, music up...in it for the long haul.

caught most of his set at Ultra and holy cow was it good. I'm not missing him again. The scratching was awesome, the energy was awesome.... he freaking killed that tent.

:eyes:  is all i can say to last night...

zabiela is definitely one of the more fun djs to watch. and by around 4:30 nic and james were doing the whole tag team one+one thing if i'm not mistaken. i left shortly after though, so i don't know how long it lasted.
