Hey everyone!
I'm new (ish) out to Hampshire from the Southern hemisphere. What with getting set up over here I haven't been out for a good dance music night in ages. On top of that I left Australia during their Spring so I've had 2 winters in a row :(
Is there much going on in the Hampshire area? I see that Gatecrasher Summer Sound System is coming up soon but that'll be a bit of a trek.
Many thanks for any hints, you'll be doing me a huge fav! Oh, I also plan on heading to Europe for at least 1 Summer gig so suggestions as to what's on there would also be awesome.

haha! Good luck! I used to live in Winchester for 3 years, and the only thing that was ever worth going to was Slinky @ Bournemouth Opera House. I don't know if it's still going on or not.
There's an annual festival at the Matterly Rose Bowl called 'Homelands'. That usually takes place Late May early June. Danny Howells and PvD played there one year. But aside from these, I can't think of anything else, sorry :( |

Where abouts in Hampshire are you?
There's loads going on in Bournemouth which is about 40 minutes from Soton and coaches will run to most of these events from all over Hampshire, this is what I know is happening over the next couple of months:
4th April: Marco V and Sander van Doorn @ Crank, Bournemouth
2nd May: John Digweed @ Crank, Bournemouth
2nd May: Slinky's 11th Birthday @ OPera House, one of the best clubs in the country and Slink birthday's are always good fun, not sure who is playing but will be a mix of Trance and Hard Dance
6th June: Paul van Dyk and Matt Hardwick @ Crank, Bournemouth
Then there is Sanctuary festival near Winchester, Hampshire. Its on 8th/9th of August and is mainly hardcore, hardstyle, hard dance and DnB but one of the nights Slinky are hosting a trance tent with Katana, John 00 Fleming, Marcel Woods, Richard Durrand and John O'Callaghan.
Other big festival in the south(ish) (apart from GCSSS which really isn't that far) is Global Gathering which is last weekend of July. |
