This track is going to be absolutely massive this year.
'The track', has got that epic carl craig sound that I really like. Not so much into 'bump bump' but the third track on the ep, 'the riff pourpe' is absolutely fantastic, my favourite of the three by far.

Review
Fabrice Lig, the prince of everything electronic, is back after his very acclaimed X-Slaves. He delivers the goods once again, starting off here with chapter one in a Purple Raw trilogy. First up is The Track, based around a jerky syncopated rhythm and a very dry kick, which remains light all the way. As usual, Lig’s arrangements evolve progressively before they wipe us away with their screeching pads and synthetic melodies. A great mixture of minimal techno and Detroit nostalgia. No doubt, the more efficient track produced by Fabrice Lig and hammered by Dixon, Ame, Alex Attias, Quarion… Much more aggressive, Bump Bump is built around fat analogue sounds, or acid noises if you prefer which seem to emulate screaming animals. One is easily carried away by an animalistic groove that keeps on building from the beginning till the end. It all ends with the very funky The Riff Pourpre, a perfect crossover between Metro Area and Parliament. The retro sounds sit nicely on a big fat beat, the kind which Lig excels in
"The Track" sounds pretty good. Not big on the other two. "The Riff Pourpe" reminds of the music for Sonic the Hedgehog, especially the lead.

I really like "The Track". It's definitely a peak time bomb that must be placed correctly within a set to get it's full effect.

So that's how it is called. "The Track". It's a class tune, I've heard it on Âme and Funk D'Void's sets.
"Bump Bump" has an awesome groove. The lead is a bit too weird, but I think I can deal with it.
"The Riff Pourpe" has a great groove as well - brilliant bass. Again I'm not sure if I'm entirely comfortable with the lead. I see how it is similar to Metro Area.
Overall, nice release. I'll look out for more tracks from this guy.

Besides being a producer and a dj, Fabrice Lig is also a history teacher in high school :)

Man, it may sound crazy, but a lot of Detroit-style techno reminds me of old-school vintage video-games/consoles (e.g Amiga 500, Mega Drive SNES). Possibly because the soundtracks of such games had similar synth-driven music of that age or smthg?
Anyway, Fabruce Lig is a classic deep melodic techno name, he has delivered some quality albums and E.P.s in the past. This release also looks good, my personal favorite being "The Track". My only criticism to those techno producers is that they sometimes play "detroit techno"-by-numbers, whereas the whole attitude and spirit of Detroit-techno was about pushing boundaries, innovating and exploring the outer limits of sound. Whilst a lot of post-millenium Detroit-style techno producers like Funk D'Void, Ken Ishi, Aril Brikha, Slam, Arne Weinberg, Joris Voorn, Vince Watson etc. have produced some awesome futuristic rhythmic soundscapes, they have failed to come-up with something really new. They surely have polished the classic Detroit sound, but other than that, its basically the same ideas from the era of Derrick May/Kevin Saunderson/Juan Atkins/Carl Craig/Mad Mike etc. Generally speaking, this release is good though.
