There are heaps of great products here http://www.createdvd.net/
I use Apollo DivX to DVD and it takes approximately 90mins to encode and burn giving a perfect quality DVD which has a high audio sync success rate unlike other programs

audio sync rate probably to do with mismatching framerates.. you can use virtual dub to demux video/audio.. then fix framerates, and remux.. :) then encode. Or another variation of the ordering of that.

ok i tried convertxtodvd and it worked, i must have confused it with another program. except it told me i needed 4.3 gigs free before it would do anything, even though the end result was not going to take that much space, and didn't. i think i need a crack or something for it hehe because i had to actually burn the dvd in nero.

this was pretty quick, only 20 mins or so but the video was only about 35 mins. blazemediapro was going to take overnight to do the same file. if that one has to re-encode or whatever, will the quality be any better? because the video i was trying to burn was a pretty poor wmv file.

ill check out some of these other ones on the weekend, cheers! :D
