View this Thread in Original format

Guys,

Just got Photoshop CS3 today. Finding it hard to understand!

Basically, im trying to do a chop the way u guys would do on here, ie: chopping someones head onto someone elses body lol.

I am able to cut around the head using the lasso tool. Where do i go from here? I cant drag the selected area onto the other pic i have opened, i take it this is where layers come into it?

Can one of u guys talk me through it?

Thanks in advance!

copy the selected area (edit>copy) and paste it in the other picture.

Use the move tool. It'll move the current layer. It's the top right in the toolbox thingy.

make sure your layers palette is open so you can see that it's pasting as a new layer. as long as it's on its own layer you should be able to move it around freely with the move tool.

Also using magnetic lasso tool (right click on lasso tool) it's a bit easier to cut out parts.

OK, its moving, what do i need to do to adjust the size of the image pasted across?

Thanks for the help man!
