| a PS3 is now definaty on my to buy list, this option is tempting and i have no doubt MGS4 will be awesome, but i think im going to wait for killzone 2 and FF13 to come out before i invest in a PS3 |

No doubt, Hideo Kojima creator of MGS4 is a god when it comes to video games with him directing this one, its easily going to be the best game of the year. |

Yah it will definately be one of the best games of the generation...not just this year. There are some other great games coming out this year as well like Resistance 2 LittleBigPlanet Killzone 2 GT5 Infamous Wipeout HD Motorstorm 2, so many great games coming to PS3. |

I really do think Sony is going to hit it big with this bundle.
With big-name Playstation brands finally hitting the PS3 (up until now, the only 'big-release' game of a previously established Playstation franchise that has launched is Ratchet and Clank, which is not even close to being the most popular), the release of the DualShock 3, the launching of the Playstation Home, and the recent confirmed victory of Blu-Ray over HD-DVD, these will all work in conjunction as good reasons for people to pick up a PS3 next to their 360 or Wii.
Its going to take awhile for Sony's box to catch up to the competition, but Ill give it to Sony that they've pulled the right moves to get their chances to be the best possible. |

Well, I can't see where else it will get released to as the game is (according to the developers) pushing the limits of a dual-layer BD. So unless it's going to be a DVD-swapping nightmare, I can only assume it's going to be exclusive.

About MGS being exclusive...
Well, it could end up being a few things.
1. Sony paid Konami to keep it as an exclusive to both a) make this bundle possible and b) keep it as a big name weapon against their competitors for yet another reason for consumers to buy a PS3. Option A may not necessarily be a big deal because I believe a GTA 4 PS3 bundle is hitting Europe in a week or two, and we all know thats not exclusive.
2. Konami is awaiting sales results to see if it sells well enough on the PS3. If not, it'll get a 360 port to make up for development costs. |

I am still trying to track down a reliable (read: not a blog) source for this, but a few places are saying Sony's contract for exclusivity runs through the end of 2008.
If that were true, a port wouldn't be a possibility - it would be absolutely certain. |
