PC games are good.
After getting a new sound card, I decided to get another hard drive, too. Of course, once the case was open, I decided to max out the ram, add firewire & sata cards, & get the best video card my computer can support. I figured I might as well, since it's not like agp cards are outlandishly expensive anymore (yeah, yeah...laugh it up).
Anyway, I downloaded a couple demos (HL2 & COD4) just to see if they'd run. To my surprise, they actually both run just fine (nothing jawdropping, but perfectly functional. Some rough edges, but no skipping or delays), but even more than that, they actually are a lot of fun, even with a mouse & keyboard :wtf:. I'll hold off on saying it's more fun than on a console, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it might be...

so yeah, what are some really good (preferably with online multiplayer that is still active...not mmo or 5-year-old ones with 122 people online) games that aren't too spec-demanding? |

The only low-spec decent title I can think of is team fortress 2, but since you already have CoD4 running def give that a go.
Maybe forged alliance if your PC can handle it? The best MP experience ive ever ever had, and ive done some pretty hardcore nerding in my time :D |

oh yeah. I forgot what really started this all. I added the hard drive & the sound card, and some random usb nonsensery, and the power supply sparked & blew :stongue:. |

a little bit of everything, though I do know that sports blow on the PC. I have tried that before. horrible.
as long as it's good and doesn't involve collecting gold, i'll give it a shot. |

+1 to Deus Ex, especially if you're looking for low-spec games.
Fallout 1 & 2 as well, both of which can be obtained cheap or free. |
