I'm totally addicted to playing online against people. Mostly just me Vs another player, but I also love the 4 player game although sometimes it takes too long waiting for people to join.
My question is for those of you that do play, what is your rating? Also, are there any advanced techniques that one can do? I ask because the other night I played some Japanese guy that had a 7500+ rating. He did this bizarre move that I'm not quite sure how to explain it but it killed me in an instant, filling up my entire screen. The thing is, he was playing very slow. This leads me to my next question, what is tailspin and what advantage if any, does it offer when playing against someone? I don't even know how to do tailspin, it just happens by accident rarely.
EDIT: Ok just read the FAQ for Tetris DS and I guess if you do a triple tailspin, you send 6 lines of garbage over to your opponent. So I think this guy I was playing, he must have done a triple Tailspin on top of a tetris and that is what killed me instantly.
Found a video of what that guy did to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ht-Wg3grGI
WTF: A person may find the value of each line clear, measured in tetromino advantage, by muliplying five-halves (two and a half tetrominoes clear a line) by nine-tenth of that line (garbage leaves one hole open) by the number of garbage lines sent subtracted by five-halves of whole line clears and one-forth of lines cleared from garbage (garbage lines only require one-forth of a tetromino). |
