how would you defend yourself if the government were to fail to protect you? also, the removal of the 5th ammendement would just strengthen the black market...look at what banning drugs did...
my brother and I are the only males in my family that arent active members of the NRA so I guess you can take what I say with a grain of salt. I grew up around guns my whole life and was taught to respect weapons. I really believe if the government were to take away the right to bear arms in a sudden and absolute manner there would be a massive upheaval. I am, however, all about stricter regulation and waiting periods.
You guys need more Ted Nugent in your lives. |

It's more crucial and relevant now than it has ever been. The last line of defense against the tyranny of the government is a well-armed populace.
As far as it being a cultural thing - school shootings happen in Middle East, India, etc. It's not exclusive to U.S. though it happens more frequently here than anywhere else.

The 5th amendment is the right not to incriminate yourself. I think you meant 2nd?
