InProgress pres. Funkagenda (UK) Friday Feb 22 @ Brown Alley
After relaunching InProgress back in December with Make A Wish & Dance, the boys are back with a variety of acts in store for 08’. With plenty lined up for their new monthly event The Last Sunday, the next club gig brings us back to Brown Alley for an evening with Funkagenda (UK).
With releases on some of house music’s biggest labels – including Subliminal, Positiva and Toolroom – Funkagenda has had something of a wild ride the past few years, with a stack of international touring taking him to destinations far a field of his home in England. Whether it’s New York, Russia, Tunisia, Romania or Poland, Funkagenda has proved to be one of house music’s newest superstars, and Melbourne gets him again on Friday February 22nd.
His first steps into production happened way back at the tender age of 13, when he helped to program music for his father. Playing in bands through high school, he became adept at several instruments, and would create his own songs playing all the parts on his 4-track recorder. Upon discovering house music in the late 90s, thanks to the likes of Roger Sanchez, David Morales and Masters At Work, he soon got deep into electronic music production and DJing, and found himself playing at UK institutions like Godskitchen Global Gathering.
Tickled Pink join InProgress and will be taking care of proceedings in the side room with their regular awesome residents: Danni B, Sass & Elektra. In tradition, we will continue with the plasmas/lighting, drink specials and crisp sounding Brown Alley sound system. Line up as follows:
