| WoW!! G&D played better then any show for a long time! Mansion has kicked it up leaps & bounds , sound & lights big time.. Flo & karen were the only TAs i saw,Great seeing you. Saw Pam Anderson go by looking good! Cant wait for Markus. |

alright so heres the review...
got to mansion around 11:45, waited in the usual will call line for 10 minutes until we realized some chick with will call just walked right up to the front and got right in. so after, we did the same. no problems, just right in. the line outside was pretty long too so im glad we got to skip it. inside of course was ing empty.
first thing i noticed was the new decorations they had. they made it look nicer. last time i was there was for benny benassi in april so its been awhile. also, im VERY happy with the smaller vip section in the middle of the dancefloor. its still there, but they moved it back so you can actually get in front of the dj booth and all. i would say they took out about 40% of that main vip section, so there was plenty of room to dance. this got me so excited for markus in 2 weeks. :D
chicco secci was dropping some nice tunes when we walked in, good opening, and the sound wasnt too loud at all, didnt even have to put in my earplugs yet. around 1am g&d showed up inside the booth, but it took em awhile to get started cuz they were setting up their macs and . but they finally started around 1:20, so 4 hour set my ass. lol. whatever, no big deal. they started off with a really old rock track which kind of made me nervous for the night, but right with second track they made me feel easy. the first hour of their set was straight bang, a lot of ids, but a couple i knew too. i loved it. then after about the first hour they kind of lost some of the energy. dunno why, just kinda stopped feeling it. we ended up leaving a little after 3 but was very happy with what we saw. g&ds mixing wasnt all that, i didnt hear any mistakes, but the transitions werent anything special either. dave dresden did seem to be enjoying himself very much. very animated with the crowd, while josh gabriel was just hiding behind his computer occasionally smiling at the crowd.
the crowd... well its mansion. there were three groups of people there, the people flaunting their money no clue with what was going on, the people ed up (there were quite a lot of people rolling) with no clue what was going on, and the few people who knew what was going on. got bumped into quite a bit, but not nearly as much as at space. plus there were actually some people who said "im sorry" but they were sober, unlike space were if someone bumps into you they give you this "ima gonna kick your ass look."
i still prefer space > mansion obviously, but mansions getting better. they totally have a new lighting system behind the dj booth and it was wicked!! the sound was still terrible, but i didnt expect much in that department.
check out the vids ima post for the lights, i got a dope 5 or 6 minute video which showcases it very nicely. the laser was also very dope.
