now that the HD war is coming to an end, will ppl be more inclined to buy a PS3 now that it's future proofed with having the defacto HD movie format? It'd be interesting to see how this plays out.
eg. the PS2 sold by the bucketloads b/c ppl were also buying it as a DVD player. |

New Line is also going Blu-Ray. |

I have both hd dvd and blu ray, it dont matter to me what happens. |

HD DVD may have taken a blow, but I vaguely remember a similar blow they took before and they bounced back. I don't think the war is over yet... closer yes, but not over.

| A company choosing exclusivity of a format probably wont win over the mass casual audiences, seeing as they probably dont keep up with this sort of news and they probably dont give a anyway. Ill go with Nut on this and say that, although blu-ray has definetely gained a major asset here, no determined winner exists just yet. Which is unfortunate because this format war is bull and needs to end immediately. |
