AKG 701 vs Beyerdynamic DT-990

| I've decided to get a set of studio phones so that i can keep working late at night without people banging on my walls. I've been researching and have narrowed it down to the 701s or the 990s. I'm looking for anyone who has experience with either of these, even better if you've used both. I'm mainly interested in how the high end compares in each of them. Any and all help is appreciated. |

If those are your only choices, then I ould say DT-990s.
The AKG 701s are hifi phones, I'd consider something else. For example, the AKG k240s which are actually designed for studio use. |

Mate I can vouch for the DT-990's... Best thing I've ever bought. Work great with my KRK Rokit 8's.
