Hi all.
Just got a cheap PS2 to use as dvd and I noticed it got network-connection. So i registered online etc to get a CD, it hasnt arrived yet (and im not sure it will too, any confirming that was missing). What I wonder is if its possible to play mp3 from my PC-HD through network on PS2 with normal windows filesharing? Or must I connect external HD into USB infront of the PS2?
Thanks
and btw does wireless controllers exists for PS2? |

I dont know every answer to your questions, but Ill help out in any way I can.
First off, did you get yourself an older PS2 or one of the slim ones? If its slim, I dont even think you need a CD to get the network thing working. That CD is for installation if you actually bought a network adapter that hooks into the back storage bay of the older PS2. If the ethernet slots are already there, that CD is unnecessary. (I think)
Anyways, I dont think the PS2 has the ability to recognize external HD's. This fact was a big criticism back in 2004 when SquareEnix released Final Fantasy XI, an online game that REQUIRED an HD. Thing is, you had to buy the game w/ that HD, you couldnt use your own. So, thats the reason I dont think the PS2 would be able to do what you want it to do, since I believe standard external's are incompatible.
And yes, there are wireless controllers on PS2, but none made by Sony. Go with the ones by Logitech, I've heard they are the best. |

usb=data transfer.
you wont get any media networking options from a ps2, only a ps3, 360 or modded orig xbox.
so stop asking stupid questions you could search the net for

| The PS2, in its original form, is not capable of media storage. YES, you can mod it, but I know next to nothing about that, so someone else is gonna have to step in and give a professional answer on that... |

you use the USB to tranfer data to a stored memory disk, like the pictures in GT4 to a USB drive...
if its possible, then go figure it out. nobody is gonna give you something for free, especially when even you dont know what you are talking about
