**Disclaimer - any comments given are solely based on the samples, so if it sounds like I'm out of my mind, it's because I've only heard like 3 minutes of each of these :p**
"Animal" sounds like it'd be pretty big in a club - definitely love how it chugs along, and then when the high melodic little thing comes in it definite contrasts nicely with the chuggy/farty bass. The breakdown does a nice job of more fully introducing the ping-pongy sounding build, which itself does a really, really nice job of feeling like it's going to drop you off a cliff. The only real criticism I have of this one is that the breakdown initially sounds somewhat "empty," but that may well have been your point - either way it builds nicely, and when it drops back in it will definitely have folks dancing.
"Small World" was one of those tracks that right off the bat I knew what it's deal was - it's a big room house track designed to get kids reaching for the lasers. I wouldn't have a clue what to do with this track, but it's quite clear that you could drop this one peak hour and the kiddies would go bananas for it. The one thing I'm not sure really resonated with me in this was how far the break brings it down - don't get me wrong, sometimes I'm all about a nice, lush, long breakdown, but this one maybe felt a bit longer than needed. Maybe. Now that it's coming back up, maybe I understand. Maybe. :p
"Tabanca" is my favorite of the bunch so far - I just really like whatever it is that's making the kind of background chuggy noise (obviously my vocabulary for describing sounds in tracks is less than great), but when those strings come in and the bassline drops out, it's just one of the most gorgeous sounding tracks I've heard in a long time. I reallty, really like this one - it just sounds so full and lush, reminds me a LOT of "Thumpie," which is never a bad thing. The way the high synths come in following the strings is definitely epic dance floor material without being at all cheesy.
"Take Care' is probably the one I'm on the fence most ab out - I either really, really like it, or I really don't care much for it. I like that it's got the really funky bassline going on in it, but I'm not sure how much the actual melody of the track does for me. This, however, might be one that the funky house kids eat up for a while to come, I just don't really think it's my cup of tea (though again, this is based on a sample).
All in all this is a really solid EP Blake, my clear favorites are probably "Tabanca" and "Animal" - can't wait to hear them in full.
