So I have been talking about this since after graduation but the time has finally come. After working my butt off for the last two years trying to stay afloat and looking for a position in my field I finally got it. I have just accepted an Account Executive position with a firm in Chicago and will be making the move.
I am very excited about this can’t wait to get started. Some of you cats from Chicago I have met but some of you I have not. I promise I don’t bite and look forward to meeting yeah in the coming months. If it was any city out of Detroit I would work it would have been Chicago and I am glad to finally be making my way to your city.
Couple of quick questions for some of you. I know a little bit about the city but honestly when it comes to the neiborhoods I know nothing. I will be working by the airpot in Des Plaines and will be looking for a place to live this Saturday. Are there any up and coming nice areas that I should take a look at? Are there any areas that I should stay away from? I have looked at places in the Rogers Park, Uptown area and places by the lake on the north side of the city. Is that commute in the morning going to be that bad? Is that area any good? Anyways any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

lakeview/wrigleyville are great places to live and not too far from the airport. these neighborhoods are pretty yuppie, but at the same time a lot of young people live there and i had an easy commute into the city.
i'd also suggest logan square - a lot of my techno friends live in that area. you used to never want to live west of western, but the area is getting better. you might also want to look at wicker park - younger, artsy type neighborhood.
