Any trance lovers from UBC, Vancouver?

Hey guys,
Well, the initial point of this thread wasn't about reviving trance in Vancouver or whatever. I just wanted to get a group of people together have a common interest in good trance, so that we could share music, go to any events together, possibly host our own. I'm also trying to learn to DJ so I thought that's one thing we could do together (maybe invite someone?). Maybe even PRODUCE music together?
But yeah. It just seems somewhat hard to find trance lovers at UBC. I have a few friends. But I'd like to see a bigger group! |

| Yeah, definitely. I'm looking more for just a group of people to get together and do whatever! As long as there's trance involved :D |

SFU - There have been some clubs and stuff before, but so much lack of interest, no leadership, and no promotion have let it die so quickly. Try talking to Caleb if he's still at SFU, or Gavin, they don't come here much anymore, but if they're still at SFU (they run a show every Tues on CJSF around noon I believe) they did something once at the Burnaby campus. "Electronica Listeners" club or something.
I tried once to do something at SFU Surrey 2-3 years ago, we tried to match the FM tower in Burnaby but online. When it was TechBC (before becoming SFU) we tried even to convince administration to let us use their insane bandwidth to host a pc for an internet radio station with diverse shows, similar to programming at CJSF, (to meet academic interests that would make it easier to convince them to let us do it!). We had a few people interested in running edm related shows, but again, the red tape, lack of interest, etc etc.
By all means, if you have any kind of leadership/organizational skills, don't just look for a club, start a club, promote it, do flyers, whatever, and go with it. Get a staff memeber or two on board and you're gold to keep things climbing upwards.
As for outside. Yes, not everyone is of age, so try a meetup somewhere without a.bevies. Maybe an older TA wants to offer up their living room or backyard for a few hours. Just pick an event, pick a time, pick a place, post it, and whoever goes, goes. |

There is a few events coming up from some tranceaddicts from here in Richmond. It is called Hazard 2007 and it is on Nov.2 in some center in Burnaby.
