edit: I just read an article. Seems the operators of all the eDonkey servers in Germany have been shut down by the courts temporarily.
I don't see why 99% of the French, Dutch and American servers are also offline though. I've managed to connect to a Dutch one, but it sucks compared to the Donkey servers.

It's not my firewall or router, I checked those.
I thought perhaps my ISP was blocking my ports (I've suspected them in the past), so I changed the eMule ports - still no luck.
Is anyone else having this problem? It seems very strange. |

| Join a private torrent site. They force people to seed, and you can find rare on them. |

TT is quite awesome, but hard to maintain a good ratio as there are always more seeders than leechers. |

The RIAA hates stuff like eDonkey almost more than any country. It would surprise me if American servers weren't shut down. |

I'm not using eDonkey (which does indeed suck), I'm using eMule.
In the five or so years I've been using this program, it's rarely failed to give me a search result, it's great
I don't like torrent sites at all, especially for music; they are useless in that regard.
My only other options are DC++ and Soulseek, and they both suck.
Meh, I buy like 95% of my music these days anyway, so I'm not that fussed. |
