Electro when it used to be exactly that

I'm hoping this thread does not encourage any false interpretation of the word electro and bandwago comments or whatever as I can't be bothered with them.

But i'd like some recommendations of when electro used to be 'electro'. So yeah i don't really want to be sifting through 'electro house' or 'electro trance' as those terms are both ridiculous.

Some stuff along the lines of David Carretta & Gigi Succes - Ermite Technologique, Andrea Doria etc.

You're kidding right?

the word 'electro' is just thrown around these days so unfortunatly people that use to classify their music as 'electro' just got a million other counterparts.

however there are still some people that dare to stick out:

Rex the Dog, MSTRKRFT, Simian

but really just go look at releases on Mute Records and Toast Hawaii(Depeche Mode's Andrew Fletcher runs it) for quality releases

Maybe not pure electro (like Afrika Bambaataa), but still at least a hundred times better than that's called (or has prefix) electro nowadays.
