I dunno whats out there at the moment.
iRiver seem to not make anything (hdd player) above the E10 (after a brief look at thier australian website). They seem to concentrate on the flash things now.
Cowon iaudio X5 might be worth a look. Its got a couple of cool features, like you can dock your camera/any other usb device to it and transfer off on to it. Its audio is good (i think it supports .flac), but the video is really restricted.
The iPods now have the amongst the best hardware (hdd, screen etc) but suck on support for files. I think battery life has improved though.
Creative Zen Vision: M had 90% of features I wanted, and its got awesome battery life when you are just playing music (i hardly ever use the video feature, that was cool to show off to people though when i first got it). I don't know if they've upgraded anything in the ones on the market now since when they first came out to Aus... Its like russian roulette though, mines crashed (software, just ned to reboot it) only once or twice in its life. My friend has had 2 die on her (under warranty). |

It's annoying also the way if you delete a song from the computer, it will delete it from the iPod. |
you can stop that with the other ipods, but not the shuffle :( |
