decline of the state of TV

Coup
TV has been on the decline for many years but am I alone in thinking that this years TV really has been the pits, across all channels?
jamie
Its shocking, i can say ive hardly watched tele this summer, all i've done is watch DVDs
Quantized
Yup, have to agree, i have barely watched any TV for the last year or 2. I can remember watching it a hell of a lot more years ago. Only stuff i watch these days (on freeview) is news, top gear, formula 1, match of the day, random sport events, jonathan ross, random bbc documentaries, and the odd decent movie.

I stay well clear of soaps, reality shows, ty weekly 'comedy' shows.

As I said to you many times Mr Coup, you get what you pay for (the exception being the bbc) and on sky there's enough channels with shows I enjoy to keep me happy.

good channels/shows

living tv - csi/csi miami, x-files re-runs
fx - family guy, dexter, x-files
hallmark - house, law & order plus all the spinoffs, diagnosis murder, jericho etc
Discovery/Geographic etc - intelligent documentaries. No sign of that guy from the bbc who's in just about everything.
sports - sky is way superior in coverage with the exception of the london based commentators who make david pleat sound intelligent
sky one - simpsons, futurama, malcolm in the middle, law & order, 24, lost etc

the only use for normal telly i have is the odd good thing on 5, whatever live sport is on, which isn't much nowadays, anne robinson humiliating people in the weakest link and homes under the hammer/neighbours/to buy or not to buy

IMO Sky has gone downhill bigtime. Can sit all night channel hopping and its all complete junk. The Wine Channel?? WTF :(

Thesedays I just get the good stuff that I want on DVD or bittorrent.
