im kind've in the middle really. I do appreciate that the private system takes the strain off the public to a certain extent. However it irks me greatly that tax payers that might not be able to afford to send their children to such schools help fund them anyway. |
Agree with you there. The figures are astounding when you think about it.
Take a standard 250 person year level in a "top" private school. Each student pays probably $20,000 a year. Assume that $10,000 of this goes towards excursions, sports, supplies and property renovations etc.
That means there's 2.5 million dollars left over per year to pay for teachers. If there's 25 teachers per year level (a very high estimate), that would mean each teacher gets paid $100,000 a year (bull).
Those calculations are without taking into account any government funding, so where the hell is all this money going?!!!
Meanwhile some state schools are struggling.

I also can't stand the snobby superiority complexes some children get from attending the more exclusive ones, and im ty i didnt get to nail more than one of my sister's private school buddies. |
I'm glad you said "some children", a lot of people think all private school kids are like that.
I'm a private school graduate, and absolutely hated that bull elitist attitude that some kids had. How absurd to think that because you have money, you're better than anyone else.
On the other hand, there were families worth 100 million that I went to school with, and no one ever knew because the kids were as nice and as down to earth as is possible. |

Catholic Schools are thinking of starting pre-school enrolments
| quote: | | SYDNEY'S Catholic Church may run its own preschools as a way of bolstering its student population through primary and secondary schools and spreading the Catholic faith from "cradle to the grave". |
Oh well, re-brain the bastards early...
I don't particularly like religions when they start messing around and indoctrinating people who are easily influenced, personally I think religion is something of a mental illness in that regard  |

i went to catholic school, in terms of them pushing religion on to you it's not that bad...
And even if they do get worse, kids these days are even bigger cunts than we were, so i don't think it'll matter much... |
