Please tune in on Wednesday, August 08 from 11am - 1pm CST for exclusive mixes from AMP veteran Chris Walsh and AMP's newest resident, Rob Turner!
Chris Walsh
Most recently Chris has set his sights back on the recording studio. He has teamed up with engineer Jeremy Coutre, and together they have formed Sangamon Studios. Recently they have put out remixes of Stella Nova's Quiet Nights on Uncommon Chill and Hipservice's Badaboom Badabing on Therapy. Chris and Jeremy have also put out two bootlegs. The first track is called Life originally by Hole in One, and the other is God Put A Smile On My Face by Coldplay. Both have reached the dance floors and club charts of DJ's such as Dave Seaman, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine, and Dave Ralph.
Rob Turner
Beyond his opening sets, in the past two years Rob has been fortunate enough to make several appearances at Chicago clubs Vision and Four, Milwaukee's Room 434 and Lemon Lounge, he has held down a monthly residency at Appleton's Ravens Lounge, aired several guest mixes on ETN.fm and Chicago's own legendary WNUR, and has lent his chilled sounds to various other parties and afterhours, earning almost as much praise for his deep and tech house afterhours sets as for his opening efforts.
Between his growing reputation as one of Chicago's finer opening DJ's and the clear passion, energy, and potential that he exudes when he's behind the decks, the future looks bright indeed. for Mr. Turner.

And on a personal note - the mix I did for this show was one I put immense amounts of effort into, and it wouldn't have come together at all without the help of Myra, Bobby, Bas, Clovis, Adam (nefardec), Nate, Adam (Theodore Promotion), Chrissi, and Jake.
Thanks for all your help the last few weeks guys :)
But not a one of you fuckers has heard the final version yet ;)

i was about to say "this mix is teh sick!!!11" but then i read the small print. :whip: i'm excited to hear the final product, bro. hope you didn't deviate *too* much from the original t/l- you picked quality tracks for the "beta". |

I changed everything after "Roses." Everything.
I guess I just decided that especially since this was for right before the Glacier show on Friday, I really wanted to play at least some music people could expect to hear then, and it turned out that I think in general the final product is a LOT more representative of my style than any actual "demo" I've done.
But whatevs - you folks can decide for yourselves next week. :) |
