making loops

I'm sure I'm not the first one to say this, but isn't it a better idea to pre-make loops rather then using the looping on a CDJ (since it's highly inaccurate)? I was thinking about making a few CDs just with loops (say 16 bars each). How do I go about making them and what programs can I use? Is it a good idea at all?

well I am not absolutely sure...but the most precise loops you will do in Ableton Live hands down...

anyway...
What I guess you want to do is that you put Loops only cd in your CDJ and then instead of looping a segment you'll use the loop track function right?
As much as common sense tells me the repeating of the track would cause as much latency of the sound as looping a segment would...the thing is that the loop will be acurate but probably it will start drifting off because of the delay CDJ introduce when looping the track...

hope I make some sense here...and please correct me if I am wrong...

I understand what you're saying. That's why I said that I want to make each loop 16 bars long, so there is no need to use the "loop track" function. In a nutshell - I want to record a loop that goes on for, say, 2min or thereabouts.

ahhhh

...that might work...

but still...isn't upgrading to Ableton a much better idea? :p

I already have Ableton. It's just more fun to use CDJs (for me at least)
