Harry Lemon - 8 Track Mind Live on Friskyradio July 5th

00soups00
Harry Lemon aka Lemon8 hosts a two hour monthly radio show on Friskyradio. Harry Lemon is well known for his groovy, and driving progressive sound and has been the name behind many many big tunes and remixes.

After joining Armada with his Bandung imprint several years ago, Harry Lemon aka Lemon8 hasn't been all that productive apart from remixing virtually every track that Bandung Records released. He did however release 'Rise' and 'Tiga' under his own name Harry Lemon, which gave us a glimpse into what could be called a return to that trusty and so instantly recognizable sound he has become famous for.

Not in the least because of his affiliation and close relationship with Armada, Harry's sound changed somewhat into a more trancey feel. And while that did make new fans on a global scale, some people were wondering what was up next for the Dutchman so respected in the global dance scene.

Apart from that he also changed his name from Lemon8 into Harry Lemon, which didn't make things any more clearer. Of course, one have to keep in mind that Harry Lemon never subjected himself to one particular style or sound. So in itself, the lack of a label or stigma isn't an entirely new thing.

His first ever produced record 'Model8' for instance, is now being recognized as a landmark in techno and minimal and as such earned itself a re-release on Plus8 after 14 years. It's follow up 'The Bells Of Revolution' is somewhat becoming a House Classic as well and as his alter ego Jack Russell, he was at the forefront of what became known as 'filter disco'.

And at the start of the Millennium, Lemon once again transformed his sound with his Inner Sanctuary Sessions, only to become a reference to what progressive house should actually sound like, while at the same time building bridges between tech, trance and house. Former record shop colleague and trance DJ Tiesto started his Millennium gig at NYC's Time Square with 'New York, New York', while his double album 'The Inner Sanctuary Sessions' even won him the Best International Album at the Brazilian Cool awards.

With the Disco Demon Series we see Harry Lemon return to his Lemon8 style in sound, as well as in the name. In many ways it's a sequel to the Inner Sanctuary Sessions and from first impressions, it seems that Lemon has found his way back into a seemingly effortless stream of productivity shaking up dance floors and mp3 players in a grand scale.

As a DJ, his eclectic approach towards quality dance music is best appreciated during his sets. And while not being concerned with DJ hype lists, he still manages to create a vast amount of dedicated fans throughout the world. Lemon8 gigs are almost everywhere sell out events and often turn into 8 hours of dance floor bliss. And with his new globally broadcasted show on www.friskyradio.com, heaps of quality productions and a new album on the way, Lemon8 is really making 2007 his own.
