Shure earphones are great sounding and have excellent noise dampening. The design, however, can be tricky with DJing because it takes a bit of time to put them in your ears and takes some time to take them out. If you think that you will be in a situation where you'll be needing to go from the cue monitor to hearing what's going on on the master (you will!) then Shures may not be the best choice.
All that being said, get yourself a pair to listen to your iPod, they really can't be beat in terms of sound quality. I would get the E3s as a starter pair. If that's too much money, the e2s will still blow standard iPod earphones out of the water. It's not even a comparason.
E2s ($65)
E3s ($120)
E4s ($200)
E5s ($~400 to 500!!) |
