While I await the mix from Gabriel & Dresden for the guest mix on my podcast, I got bored and recorded a new mix! This one won't be for the podcast. It is my jackin' house demo! I am calling it "Jackin The Box 2." The first "Jackin The Box" mix was the nickname for my podcast's 3rd episode.
This mix shows that I not only spin electro, progressive, minimal, and tech house. I can also spin the funky and jackin stuff! And I love it! HAHA!
Anyway, theres some chart toppers in this one, along with some underground and fresh stuff. This one is at 126-127bpm. I've even thrown in a classic...the Departure Lounge tune. Enjoy!

Well, I finally got in a listen. The mixing was pretty sound and I liked the flow of the tunes. Something seems lacking, though, but I can't really put my finger on it. Might just be the cold I have right now ing up my hearing. /:
I definitely appreciate the mix. Don't see that type of house on here very often, which makes me sad. I play a lot of the same stuff. |

I've been thinking about it...I guess it's just the structure of it. It doesn't really feel like the mix is going anywhere. Every once in a while the theme will be consistent for a couple of tracks (7 & 8, 13 & 14) but then it's like you got distracted. I'm guessing you probably did the mix without any planning. I've done it lots of times - just start playing and pick out whatever catches my fancy. It's fun to do, but doesn't make for the best sets.
Edit: I do want to stress that I still liked the mix. My kind of tunes. |
