maybe try looking into tafe places for courses, or maybe rmit:

not sure if universities do a sound design course or anything but maybe try searching them :)

| You can also do a Sound design course at AFTRS, but that is in Sydney. That's more directed toward film than music tho. |

Theres always TAFE sound engineering. I did that for a year. Complete waste of time. unless you want to be a roadie, or record dudes in thier 60s still thinking they are gonna be the next big thing.
Also, you'll need to pass an english test. You might want to work on that. |

Ooh, snap.
I sort of lost interest once I realised that in Tasmania you have to be a roadie to break into the PA business, and from PA into studio recording, and no sound production company would hire me as a roadie because I was female (and as such couldn't heave speaker bins around all weekend in case my uterus fell out, or something).
Plus the fact that I passed when I attended only maybe 30% of classes is a bit of a worry. |
