Here's a new mix of what I've been (and/or will be) playing at Venus De Milo for my weekly residency on Saturday nights here in Savannah, GA. A couple big boxes of vinyl arrived from overseas last week, so what better a way to break them in than dropping them into a mix!
Mixed live (and programmed on the fly) in my studio on a pair of 1200's with a couple tracks on CDR (MR&J really need to release Engage on vinyl).
Download Venus De Milo Selections Volume III here
1. Leama & Moor - Distance Between Us [Jody Wisternoff Mix]
2. Matt Rowan & Jaytech - Engage
3. Common Grounds - To Be Given [Max Graham Remix]
4. Seamus Haji - Last Night A DJ Saved My Life [Cedric Gervais & Second Sun Remix]
5. The Ian Carey Project - Love Won't Wait
6. Robbie Rivera featuring Justine Suissa - Float Away [Brian Cross Remix]
7. Andy Morris featuring Dan Rowe - Conditioned [Main Mix]
8. Dousk - Biz1982
9. The Disco Brothers featuring Andrea Britton - Inner Sense [Extended Club Mix]
10. Tom Cloud featuring Tiff Lacey - Secretly
11. Vibrasphere - Floating Free
12. Delerium - Angelicus [Andy Moor Remix]
13. Cass Fox - Touch Me [Mike Koglin & Jono Grant Remix]
14. Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners - Love Theme Dusk [Mike's Broken Record Mix]
Go easy on the critique Bobby, I know the last track is a couple years old, but people still love hearing it at Venus fairly frequently. |

Mitch what happened? I remember you used to play good music.
:p
Seriously though, you get an F- for those last two tracks. :) |

I know it's a cardinal sin in the DJ rulebook, but I've been playing BOTH the Spencer & Hill remix and the Jono Grant & Mike Koglin remixes in the same night at Venus lately (spaced out a couple hours apart though). I prefer the Spencer & Hill remix quite a bit more, the JG & MK remix gets a little too trancetastic towards the end, but overall I like it enough to play it.
Love Theme Dusk is one of my favorite tracks of the past couple years (I <3 that piano!), so suck it! :p |

Eww.
Also add 'playing a ty remake of a classic record' to the list of cardinal sins in the DJ rulebook that you've committed. :D |

you know me... I do what I can to break some of the rules as much as I can! thankfully I'm in a place where I can get away with it significantly more easily than I could back in Madison. I'd be surprised if more than one person from the Savannah area commented negatively on either of the remixes by the time I retire them in about 2 months.
so what's your opinion of the D.O.N.S. remake of Inner City's Big Fun? :haha: |
