SOLIDARITY 2 May 5 @New/Old Spring4th!

CoreyVonWaters
On May 5th, 2007, an event like no other in the history of Atlanta will take place. An entire scene will come together as one unified force. We will accomplish something we can be proud of for the rest of our lives. We are proud to present to you…

SOLIDARITY 2

Presented by Evolution, Evil Empire, 180 Degrees, Playground, Guerilla Underground, Skyline Atlanta, Abstract Logic Recordings and Technikly Funk Productions.

Saturday 5/5/07 10pm-6am

Spring4th Centre, Midtown Atlanta (directions at bottom of post)

100% of the profits from this event will be donated to charity! Every DJ and promoter involved is donating their time to make this event happen. The sound rigs have been donated by Evil Empire Audio and Detoured Souls, Spring4th is giving us a substantial discount on the venue, and Dream Beamz is giving us a substantial discount on lasers. Everything associated with this event has been donated or is being provided at the maximum possible discount to ensure that we raise as much money as possible for charity.

Continuing the tradition begun last year at Solidarity, when we raised almost one thousand dollars for the victims of a tragic mass murder in Seattle, Washington, Solidarity 2 will bring together 7 promoters, __ DJs, and 1000+ fans for an eight-hour odyssey of the best in Atlanta electronic music to benefit two worthy causes, the Atlanta Humane Society and the Children’s Restoration Network. Our goal for the night: Ten thousand dollars. Five thousand dollars for each charity. We can make this happen…

An introduction to the charities we’ll be benefiting on this magical night…

Atlanta Humane Society

www.atlantahumane.org

Mission: To prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty, and exploitation of animals and to assure that their interests and well-being are fully, effectively and humanely protected by an aware and caring Society.

Services: The AHS extends compassion to animals and people. Services and programs include: animal intake and care, adoptions, education, advocacy, consultation and crises intervention, food bank, hospital/clinic, rescue, resource for social service agencies, and support of the indigent. The Society, the only agency providing such extensive and focused animal welfare services in the Southeast, serves its constituency with hope.

Children’s Restoration Network of Atlanta

http://www.childrn.org/Newhome.asp

Children's Restoration Network (CRN) is a non-profit agency focusing on the plight of homeless children in our community. In addition to meeting basic needs, CRN conducts special events to provide a broad range of positive experiences for the children and their mothers to promote healthy and happy community interaction.
During its productive thirteen-year history, CRN has dedicated its efforts to fulfilling its mission and vision statements working with over 120 shelters and group homes throughout metro-Atlanta, serving over 1,900 children each day, 3,400 each year. While children are our main focus, we also realize that assisting the mother is usually the best way to help the child. Programs are therefore directed towards both children and their mothers to ease their transition through homelessness.

The Talent:

(bios only written for out of town/headlining DJs)

Main arena

DJ Ryle (Next Level Muzik/T3H, Hard House, Seattle, Washington)
www.myspace.com/djryle

When Zach (DJ Ryle) heard about this event, he immediately e-mailed us to ask how he could be a part of it. After the events in Seattle last year that prompted the first Solidarity event, he believed it was important to represent the Seattle community as we carry on the tradition. We welcome him for his first Atlanta appearance.

Hailed as the one of the most versatile dj's on the west coast, and the biggest wildcard in Seattle, Ryle's unforgettable dj sets have earned him the status as an undeniable conerstone of Seattle's nightelife, not to mention bookings all over the US and Canada alongside the top names in the industry such as Bad Boy Bill, Richard Vission, DJ Irene, Donald Glaude, Fatboy Slim, Rabbit in the Moon, Paul Oakenfold, Lisa Lashes, DJ Monk, DJ Bam Bam, Alex Peace, Steve Smooth & JJ Flores, Josh The Funky One, DJ Fixx, Baby Anne, Micro, Dave Aude, Miss Lisa, Keoki, DJ Swamp, Reid Speed, Omar Santana, AK1200 and many more. His intoxicating, genre hopping blend of Bangin Hard House, dancefloor smashing Breakbeats, mixed with Dirty Electro-House, Big Room Anthems, and Jackin Tekno, has led to the phenomenal success of his Encryption series of mixed CDs and now to the creation of the Next Level Muzik record label.

Evol Intent (Lifted / Evol Intent / Human, ATL)

The Atlanta based artists Evol Intent are among the greatest purveyors of the new incendiary jungle sound. Operating as a three piece power troop; Knick, Gigantor, and the Enemy respectively, the outfit’s uncompromising drum tyrades left an

indelible mark on the U.S. scene and the globe at large. Birthed out of punk-hardcore culture, the trio developed a unique method for wrecking soundsystems, utilizing incredibly dynamic drum mechanics and the uncompromising discord of their
punk youth.
Having begun Evol Intent Recordings in 2000, Knick and Gigantor were determined to create a conduit suitable for their own productions as well as those by friends and like minded producers. Very shortly, The Enemy joined ranks via the internet and
eventually relocated to contribute to the growing movement.
With a level of accomplishment approaching pinnacle proportions, Evol Intent sees no intention of resting or growing complacent.
Recent projects with Renegade Hardware and Barcode have seen the ‘Us Against the World’ Mix CD and the massive ‘Police State’ EP, and now a length artist LP is nearing completion.

The promoters:

Evolution:
www.myspace.com/evolutioneg

Evolution Atlanta is committed to bringing back the glory days of underground electronic music and the "rave" subculture in the southeast and restoring the old-school vibe that has been missing for years. We combine the balls to the wall attitude of the rave with the professionalism of club promoters to create events with an underground vibe and a safe atmosphere for our crowds.
In the year we've been throwing shows, we've done four major events: Solidarity (4/14/2006), a benefit event to raise money for the victims of the Seattle tragedy, raised over seven hundred dollars for charity while drawing over two hundred people with less than ten days promotion time. Theory of Evolution (6/30/2006) , our official launch party drew over four hundred to Spring4th, the preferred venue of Evolution Atlanta and was widely praised as one of the best events of the year. Stellar (9/15/2006), our third event, also drew over four hundred to Spring4th while welcoming the return of DJ Snyper of Orlando, Florida. Primal (1/19/2007) , Our biggest event yet, with our highest production values, Primal was a showcase for international touring artist Matt K, one of the world's greatest hard techno DJs.
We throw events which combine the finest in local and regional talent with a vibe that will make people come back again and again The Evolution Atlanta crew has taken Atlanta by storm in the last year. Are you Evo?

180 Degrees:
http://www.180degreesatl.com
http://www.myspace.com/180degrees

180 Degrees started as a weekly internet radio show set to showcase all of the talent atlanta drum + bass had to offer. By 2004, the crew threw their first event. And dispite an ice storm, managed to fill Hell of The Masquerade with fans that loved drum + bass. Since then the crew has thrown numerous successful events featuring some of the best talent in drum + bass. Acts include: Juju, Cause 4 Concern, Spor, Ewun, Danny Tha Wildchild, Chris Renegade, Basic Operations, Mason, DStar, Vector Burn, Vicious Circle, Quadrant, Congo Natty, MC Armanni Reign, MC Sharpness and more. The crew has also maintained the 2nd longest running dnb webcast in Atlanta. Check 'em out every Friday from 10:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M. on www.drumnbasstv.com. In addition, last september, the 180 crew took the helm of SUPPORTYOURINGLOCALS at The Mark on Thursdays. Between the efforts of the 180 and ALR crews, they have turned SYFL into one of the most successful local drum + bass and breaks nights that Atlanta has seen in recent times. The 180 crew also fathered the TESTYOURINGLOCALS DJ Contest, which has had unrelenting support. 180 Degrees keeps their focus on quality music, pushing boundries, and expanding the drum + bass and edm scene in Atlanta. Be sure to witness these efforts in our room, as we do what we do best for one of the most important causes, the well being of the children and animals of our city.

Abstract Logic Recordings:
http://www.abstractlogicrecordings.com

Abstract Logic Recordings was founded by a group of individuals who were created to produce dope tracks, rock parties, and generally improve the lives of others through sound. Drum samples, synthesizers, low end, vocal talent, and the ability to put it all together with sequencers enables us to accomplish this. Over the course of the first half-decade of the 21st century, the individuals who have been flying our flag have invested untold amounts of energy into making this happen…now the general consensus is that we have finally paid our dues and are able to make it happen on a much larger scale.
Collectively we have produced massive amounts of breakbeat, drum-n-bass, house, downtempo, and hip hop. We have also run our share of weekly events at some of the most infamous clubs in Atlanta, and have been responsible for a series of large scale events. We have accomplished all of this with the very little financial backing we have had at our disposal. Now the universe has finally decided to fund our ultimate mission to bring any kind of temporary salvation we can to other sentient beings. We believe that the reality of a higher power is evident in our common realization of a natural state of ecstasy through sound, and we have thoroughly researched the means of tapping into these resources for the benefit of everyone we come in contact with.

Evil Empire:
http://www.myspace.com/cyberaver

Evil Empire, along with their partners DV8 productions, have been responsible for creating one of the most legendary series of events of the last few years, the Cyberaver series. Emphasizing hard, party-rocking music with insane decorations and costumes, Cyberaver has hosted some of the most wanted names in dance music, including the Autobots, DJ Fixx, Omar Santana, Lady Christine, Screwface vs Control Z, DJ X-Ray, Evol Intent, Hostagz, and Adam X. Now deluged by requests to take the Cyberaver show on the road, Evil Empire is considering efforts to expand their Empire by throwing Cyberaver events in cities such as Seattle and Charlotte.

Playground Productions:
http://www.playgroundatl.com

In late 1999 Spunkie and Steffi decided they wanted to hear something missing from the Atlanta electronic dance music scene: hardcore. This dream became a reality after meeting some of the future Globe Theatre staff at the millennium New Years show. After a lot of hard work Playground threw Recess, one of the first shows at the Globe in June 2000. Since then Playground has continued to find new and exciting venues.

Over the years Playground has organized more than 40 events, ranging from club events, underground raves, art parties, festivals, and managing their own underground venue.

From the very first party, Playground has brought national and international DJ legends to Atlanta. In addition Playground continues to be a big supporter of local and regional talent and in the past provided open decks where many local favorites played their first gigs.

As Playground approaches its seventh year of promoting we’re proud to have kept true to the rave spirit, despite the never ending battle of keeping the underground dance music scene alive in Atlanta.

Guerilla Underground:
http://www.myspace.com/guproductions

Guerilla Underground was thought up one drunken Sunday evening at one of Atlanta's former party spots in East Point .. The idea was to try to help bring back what was thought to be something dead and far beyond revival, the Atlanta underground scene. We began by working with one of Atlanta's most trusted production companies Playground Productions. With much help from Spunkie and Steffi of Playground we got our company off the ground and began throwing a series of Hardcore DnB mashup warehouse parties in late '04 thru 2005. We have picked up several resident DJ's over the past couple of years who spin various styles and have broadened our array of styles past just hardcore. We now have residents for Hardcore, Hard Dance, Techno, Ragga, and other forms of DnB, plus countless sub-genres. That's a slight look at what we're about. Join us for future parties to witness the organized chaos first hand!

Technikly Funk Productions:

Technikly Funk Productions is the brainchild of longtime Atlanta DJs Corey Von Waters (previously a partner in the now-legendary Maddhatter Promote Group) and TristanAC. With an emphasis on bringing together separate communities through the melding of older talent with the new generation of emerging Atlanta DJs, combining the old-school club crowd with the newer school underground crowd through shared music and shared vibes, TFP is committed to making the city of Atlanta a hot spot for electronic music in America. While placing an emphasis on strengthening our local scene, TFP will also be bringing in headliners as well. They believe that after people work hard, they need a place to party as hard as they work. Be on the lookout for tracks being released under the Technikly Funk guise as well as Technikly Funk Recordings the label coming soon.

I would also like to tell you guys that I have hired the same professional videographer that we used with Maddhatter to come in and take some pownage video of the show from 11-3. Lots of cool little surprises in store that aren't on the flyer. This is the same person that Maddhatter used to shoot the Sander and Dubtribe shows.
