DJ DAYHOTA
SUPERJANE
TORONTO/CHICAGO
MYSPACE.COM/DAYHOTA

Funk Queen Dayhota (a.k.a. Shannon Ialongo), who energetically works the crowd as she spins, looking as if shed rather be on the dance floor than stuck in the dj booth.-david prince(spin magazine) David Prince of Spin Magazine gives Shannon Ialongo the title of Funk Queen, but the world of house music knows her as the infectious DJ Dayhota. Her trademark cutting-edge style combined with her high-energy filled DJ sets put DJ Dayhota into the upper echelon of the underground industry. Spring 2006 marks the release of DJ Dayhota's first mixed CD Catch Me on RE-INVENT MUSIC followed by Stomp This on STOMPY.COM. Catch Me is an aural journey of unique tracks and top-shelf mixing. In the summer of 2005 Dayhota collaborated with fellow SuperJaner Lady D to work on a remix for Showtime's critically acclaimed series The "L" Word. Tommy Boy Records picked up the remix and plans to release it on an upcoming CD compilation. A Chicago veteran of house-music, Dayhota has entertained at clubs worldwide: Centro-Fly and The Limelight in NYC, Motor in Detroit, Rain and Ice in Las Vegas, Sno-Drift and Ruby Sky in San Francisco and Level and Nikki Beach in South Beach (Miami). Her sound has graced the international speakers at top-flight venues like The Guvernment and The Docks in Toronto, Batofar in Paris, Zapata and The Lab in Germany, Macarena in Barcelona, Seven in Melbourne and The Underground Caf in Sydney to name a few. In an industry dominated by male influence, Dayhota and fellow DJs Heather, Colette, and Lady D paved the way for future female DJs, shaping DJ culture by forming the all female DJ collective SuperJane. In 2000 SuperJane went on its first national tour and in 2002 its first international tour. In 2002 Mixer Magazine nominated DJ Dayhota as one of the Top 100 DJs, while URB Magazine nominated her in 2004. Not only is DJ Dayhota a feature talent of the underground world, but she rapidly gains mainstream recognition with featured stories on the pages of Billboard, XLR8R, Spin, Jane, Nylon, and Velocity. With her energy, unique style and undisputable talent she is becoming the conduit between the underground world of house and mainstream America. Whats in store for miss DJ Dayhota? Keep your eyes peeled for this media darling in the making as she takes off this spring on a worldwide tour to promote the release of her mix CD Catch Me (sponsored already by MAC Cosmetics and Big Shot magazine). Dayhota also has more remix projects in the works for Tommy Boy as well as original production to be released on independent labels. This DJ is the kind that groups ambition with talent and she will continue to make her mark. Look out for DJ Dayhota!!

J PREZ

J-Prez is from Peterborough, Ontario and is one of Torontos most sought after DJs who has been spinning for 18 years. He has several CD compilations under his slipmat with his recent, Trippin on Tribal vol. 5, the follow-up to his last release, Trippin on Tribal vol. IV.

This recent release sees the maturity in his production and deck skills hes mastered along with a well programmed collection of tribal beats sure to get the floor moving.

J-Prez is in the midst of production with a remix currently sampling dancefloors. He will soon have his website up and running for his listening audience to get up close and interactive.

Hell be releasing scenestermag.coms 1st CD compilation entitled, Scenester Grind which he mixed and co-produced with DJ/Producer, George William.

J-Prezs current & past residencies include Torontos Housexy, Gallery (Guvernment), CZ (Comfort Zone) and Lush in Hamilton. He is a local of the Escape-Tour summer boat cruises departing from Toronto piers during the summer months.

He has played at such venues in Ontario as, Berlin Nightclub, Heatwave (Oakville), Splash Nightclub (Burlington), Koolhaus, Love Sexy, X-it (Digital), Life Nightclub, Money Nightclub, Devils Martini, Roxy Blu, Mad Bar and Limelight. He has also played in Quebec at, Lerissou, Chez-Henri, Hartwells and Zap.

He has had his Trippin on Tribal vol. IV CD reviewed in Scenester Magazine. As well as been featured in Freak Entertainments DJ Report with honourable mentions on bpm:tv in their daily DJ Buzz on bpm:tvs website and a soon up and coming on-air interview.

A self-taught professional J-Prez keeps his crate spiced up at all times making his sound a distinction among many.

After leaving Peterborough he headed to Ottawa and then onto where it all happens for any DJ in Canada, Toronto. From there he played the Top 40 clubs and soon crossed the street to where the sounds of House beckoned.

He describes his style as, starting off not slow, but with something that catches your attention, something that isnt too hard and then takes you on a roller coaster ride, up and down, ambient for a second, and then its in your face. Its hard again.

J-Prez has a deck presence which builds up any dance floor, ensuring eruption. He is a professional through and through. One thing he finds to be of utmost importance is to feel what the crowd is feeling in order to deliver what they want. I go in a little earlier then my set; spend a half hour listening to the other DJ. I dont want to play what he or she has in the last hour.

He has opened for DJ Keoki and played alongside many great Canadian deck talents such as, Deko-ze, Addy, Nathan Barato, Sydney Blu, el Duran and international talent, Behrouz. He has also closed for The Scumfrog.

J-Prez has to be one of the most humble of DJs making him a pleasure to work with. He is a great asset to any clubs residency or special event. He invites interaction with those on the dance floor and possesses a willingness to spend time with them.

Open to suggestions, ideas and keeping his ear to the ground for original, unique tracks is what makes J-Prez one the most versatile DJs today.
