Sean Tyas
Sean Tyas, a New York native and part of BasslineNYC (www.basslinenyc.com), now residing in Switzerland, brings to the dancefloor a mix of melodic harmony and driving groove that is sure to be just as effective on the legs as it is on the heart.
He got his start in 1999 with his first set of Tech-12s and started to learn how to mix music. But for him, this was not enough. In the coming couple of years, he put together a studio and began producing records as well. By the age of twenty six, he has already remixed artists such as Christina Aguilera, Pink, Moby, Daniel Bedingfield, Christina Milian, and PPK. During this time he got his start into professional DJing with clubs in NYC such as Shelter and Exit.
Moving to Europe proved to be a great move for Sean, doing all production for DJ Beam in Germany and building his experience as a studio producer. Eventually Sean decided to step away, concentrated much more on his own productions and remixes. "Mirella" was the product of this exodus, as it was promptly signed to Afterglow Recordings, seeing John Askew and Dave Joy remixes. This led to a follow-up remix of Duderstadt - Muhanjala, which has seen almost every playlist of any trance DJ this year, including Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk.
Despite the departure from Germany to Switzerland, Sean maintained relations with Beam, and the remix of Beam - "On your Mind" proved to be another HUGE club smash. Caned CONSTANTLY by the likes of Paul van Dyk, John O'Callaghan, & Armin van Buuren, this remix essentially locked Sean in as one of 2006's more endeared talents in the genre.
The hype on his up-coming Discover single "Lift", has just been even more amplified by Sean's winning of the Sander van Doorn - Punk'd Remix Competition, beating out over 250 other remixes. Due out mid-summer, Lift promises to be Sean's biggest release to-date.
Coming from the energetic trance side of things has given Sean a slight edge when choosing emotional tracks. He has decided to not go in the "Hey I'm cool too"*** direction of everyone and their sister playing emotionless electrohouse, and now has reached even deeper into the real "dance your ing ass off" tech-trance.
In 2006, Sean has hit the ground at a running pace, and by now he has already played in many international locales, such Norway, Finland, Sweden, Turkey, England, Ireland, Scotland, Poland, Indonesia, Switzerland, Canada, Germany, Italy, and of course America. As 2007 rolls on, dates are already confirmed for South Africa & Australia.
DJ Yann
Yann has come along way since he started mixing in 1996 as DJ Dew and organizing events with E.OM.F and Cosmogony. Progressing with the music and in technique, he now plays an engaging unique sound that blends groovy psychedelic trance with original, percussive, banging beats and an impeccable mixing style. Yann?s track selection and excellent quality of mixing have made him a brilliant choice for peak time slots and promoters. His recent sets have included a mix of electro based sounds and psytrance.
Today, Yann has a performance history that boasts 4 residencies and over 200 major events in North America and on an international level. He has been contracted for events across Canada and the United States, mainly performing on the west and east coasts. In 2004, the German label Headroom Productions made Yann their North American representative. However, just recently, Yann has been named label DJ for Serbian based Ultra Groove Records.
As co-founder of Tech Safari Productions (Eclipse Summer Electronic Festival, Amazone nights), based in Montreal since 2002, he is also Tech Safari?s Web design and publicity master. His creative views make him an important member of the collective as he is involved in finding innovative ways to put Tech Safari on the map and to come up with ideas and projects that will set the group apart.
As one of Canada?s best known psytrance Djs, Yann can read any crowd and each set he?s performed has provided him with the opportunity to play alongside world-renowned talent such as X-Dream, Hallucinogen, Astral Projection, Tim Shuldt, Absolum, Infected Mushroom, Midmiliz, Dino Psaras, Son Kite, Deedrah, Ticon, Talamasca and many others.
