So im seriously looking at going to Uni...i'm going to the Hull University open day on Sat/Sun. Half way through writing my personal statement and i've started looking into the whole student loans thing.
Are there any tips you guys can give for either getting into uni or while at uni??
Its a 4 year BSc in Aquatic Zoology just so ya know :) |

| Hull was voted the worst city to live in in England if that helps. But I've got no idea how good the uni is supposed to be |

| Hull is supposedly the worst place to live in the UK. The uni is also one of the worst as well in league tables. But if thats the course you want to do then do it. |

If you want an essay writing on what not to do at uni then im your man. I think i pretty much ed up everything you can do there!
Rule number one tho. Make sure you know the exact content of the course not just the course module names which could be construded as anything. Bottom line is if you don't like your course you will not go!
Oh and if you can do your course in one of the Manchester uni's then strongly consider them, its the place to be at the mo |

Just out of interest, what kind of job will be awaiting you the other side of your degree?

My advice is to get in contact with the college and get contact details for people who finished the course a number of years ago. Then talk to those people about what jobs they're doing now.
Universities spout guff about job prospects, talk to people who have finished the course and find out from them what its REALLY like. |

How'd you figure that about the university? 38th out of 120 isn't bad...and its far from worst.

When i looked at the uni it looked really good...The halls of residence were big and they showed us the smallest ones. Cheap living there as well. 35 quid a week including utilitys and 1 hot meal a day.
Didn't go round the actual city, but as for nightlife most people just go to the onsite nightclub. |
