| just got back from Sheffield, after the disappointment of Friday Night at the Honey Club, this more than made up 4 it, superb selection of classics mixed with some stompin new tunes, PvD 100% proved why he is no.1, no over DJ could come close, roll on 22nd September if it goes ahead, i will be there with bells on, ave it :D |

FTW!
An absolutely incredible set from THE number one DJ in the world (not that the DJmag rankings actually mean ...but he is actually amazing)
That was the best set i've seen him play in the UK. I have heard better in Germany, but i digress.
That was the first time i've visited the Gatecrasher venue, and i was a little dissapointed as i thought it would be a huge massive venue on a par with SeOne with thousands of people, but it wasn't actually all that large. However the layout was very good with all pathways and passages leading back to the front lobby, so you couldn't get lost. Decor was very good, but i have to say that the quality of the soundsystem was excellent. Good quality sound at good volume levels with no distortion at all. The lighting system was also very good.
Riley and Durrant warmed up for PvD and were playing some pretty uplifting tunes. This concerned me as i thought that PvD would bring it down a notch for his long set progression. However, when he started, he continued with the tempo.
He played a set that was generally bouncy, taking the set up and down with trance, tech-trance, techno, and finishing off with a splash of breaks. Every tune was a great tune, unlike his set at Godskitchen in Bournemouth recently, which was very mediocre in comparison. Some tunes that were played were:
FDV - Six
Super 8 & DJ Tab - Needs to Feel (Wippenberg remix)(PvD Edit)
For an Angel (3 times!) including a breaks re-edit of the Marc van Linden Remix)
PvD - Forbidden Fruit
PvD - Time of our Lives
PvD - Nothing But You
Amiel - Lovesong (Scumfrog remix)
Thomas Bronzwaer - Constellation (JOC Mix)
Filo & Peri - Anthem (JOC mix), which he only played once thank god.
Fred Baker - Lunar Eclipse
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (Blake Jarrell mix)
Jochen Miller - Twisted Minds
Terry Ferminal - Nymph
Way Out West - Mindcircus
Kuffdam and Plant - The Ones we Loved
Lange & Gareth Emery - Another You Another Me (Terranova remix)
Blank & Jones - Wunderwoll
Binary Finary - 1998
Solange - Messages
amongst many others!
He finished at about 6.10am, and he played an encore...a twenty minute encore! Bloody amazing. I'll be there in September when its confirmed. |
