Achtung! TXTA on the radio Thursday

progressiveMOJO
So through various means and methods, I managed to get myself a chance to appear as a guest DJ on Stanford's radio station. You're probably wondering, why do a bunch of people in Texas care what's going to be on the air over in San Francisco? Well I'll tell you why.

Because it's going to be webcast.

So on Thursday, Feb. 8, from the hours of 11am-2pm Texas time, if you want to hear some (in my opinion) very worthwhile techno and progressive house, point your web browser to the following link:

I've semi-programmed out a mix that will probably be at least partly familiar to you TA's, not really intending it to be the absolute bleeding-edge newest stuff but just to be a solid mix of good songs. I'm planning to record the set and keep my tracklist, and I'll post it after the show. But if you need something to listen to during your lunch break on Thursday, tune in. Your support is much appreciated.

edit: I mean, friend

had a couple technical -ups with my laptop. First it would crash every time I opened Ableton. Then it decided mid-set to just somehow make the warping on a track disappear altogether, and once (and this was particularly bad) it left warp markers present but MOVED MY ING WARP MARKERS on its own, resulting in a fair trainwreck when I tried to mix another song in. another place it resulted in a bit of beat galloping that I couldn't quite iron out on the fly. oh well. ing technology

So right now I'm polishing up the recording, it was made at a very low volume level so I'm making it a bit louder. And I'm also going to just sort of remove the place where the trainwreck happened. Then I'll get to uploading it, which might take a while (final length was about 2hrs 25mins). But the link and tracklist are forthcoming.

Other than the one or two technical glitches the show went well. Got asked if I'd be willing to mix on the show again sometime in the future, hopefully got my name out there a bit. Hope anyone who listened enjoyed it.

edit: uploading now

yeah, talk about technology. My GPS went bad in the middle of a farkin trip. I spent around three hours looking for an address. Geez!
