PURE done for good?

its a shame to hear about this but i think the scene will survive and things will move on. on second thought, the media never blows things out of proportion so i guess chicago nightlife will shrivel up and die.

The show goes on, folks. There are records still left to play in the bag. And, the decks will continue to spin. The law is the law. And, those allegedly involved will be punished if proven guilty. Maybe these events will bring about better business, events, and music. I believe, no matter what happens, Chicago's promoters and Djs will continue to bring us the very best in electronic dance music entertainment.

Forgery and tax evasion are two very serious crimes. What sucks the most is that the relationships between clubs and promoters will be strained throughout the entire midwest. Now every promoter's integrity is going to be questioned, and club owner's demands are going to intensify. Believe me, this is more bad than good in the short term. In the long term, we'll see how the Chicago scene will reconduct itself. The city basically has a blank slate right now.

darin im going to try and say this as respectfully as possible. please dont talk out of your ass when it comes to serious matters like this.

1. that is not what they were charged with. they were charged with grand theft. please dont contribute to the rumour mill

2. neither you nor i nor anyone else who posts regularly on this board (with the exception of maybe haider@soundbar) know enough or have enough experience with dealing with high budget electronic music events and the A list dj agencies to make such negative assumptions about the dance scene in chicago that you did. you simply cannot say that it is a blank slate right now, nor can you say this will affect any other promoter. from what ive seen so far no clubs have skipped a beat and all scheduled events are still going to go on as planned.

Does this mean that the time for low-budget, D-List DJ's such as myself has finally come?!?

:p
Dj Spiel
Their is, but NOT LIKE PUREFUTURE. 3-Men--> Lead that Company...you best believe every single cent that is invested in bank will probably be seized by Government. Company looks like its done, All of Chicago will know about this and the "employees including Dj's" might not have best reputation when joining another Company or booking venue. It's like working for Target and they fire you because you knew someone stoled something. Trying to find another job after that (good-luck) Not saying anyone employees knew...but... that doesn't matter.

As far as planning goes---for future events I don't think much is going to happen. After future dates for dj's are done (so is pure)

I won't say from who I heard, but thru e-mail i was told by a FORMER EMPLOYEE that PURE is SHADDY without a doubt and screwed (this person over) a couple times.

Best of luck to all of you in the coming months.

there are plenty of promoters in this city that throw quality events. You spin for one of them!
