Entertainment execs charged

Three entertainment executives have been charged with theft
for allegedly bilking Chicago clubs, officials said Thursday. Jay Prasad,
president of Pure Entertainment, plotted with vice president John
Curley and events director Lucas King to steal more than $100,000
over the past year, authorities said. Described as "middlemen," they
would negotiate with New York agents to pay performers for work in
Chicago venues, officials said. Then they would allegedly forge contracts
for a higher amount with the venues and skim the difference. Chicago
Police and Cook County prosecutors raided Pure Entertainment's Near
North Side offices Wednesday.

search for entertainment execs proved fruitless.

gracias.

I'm not shocked, but that both sucks and, in an odd way, is good. It might mean no more PURE (sucks), but also that clubs are willing to even pay inflated booking fees to bring in talent, so I guess there's still a demand on the business end, which is good--even above what people had thought.
