Hi I just want to thank google for allowing me to stumble across ths site lol!

I am 23 and I have been listening to trance for about 8 years now and i absolutely love it. it's like a part of me. (do you guys feel the same). and I reckon I will always love trance. That nice melody, beat and breaks...ahhhhh....

Anyways im currently writing a peice for my Myspcae blog descring why i love trance and i just cant think of anything (probably cause my brains still abit mashed from Saturday ha) i just struggle to put my affection and love for trance into words

So basically im just asking everybody to write a little blurb on just why you love trance! what makes it so special? what makes u travel half the length of your country just to watch a certain DJ play for a few hours!

Look forward to your responses
:)

I love the symmetry and depth of it. and that you can hear a track houndreds of times and still have new elements to focus your ears on.

Then i suggest theres no point being registered on a Tranceaddict forum...doh lol!

Care to expand subtle!

Just listening to the Armin Van Buuren State of Trance mix, 87 tunes in 2hrs...amazing mix!

i suggest you not to mention armin/asot and trance in the same sentance. some people are extra sensitive about that.
and welcome

Because Trance is like Classic Music, requires concentration: It leads us to hypnotic states, listening to a song and filtering all the tiny diverse sounds that compose it. It's not music to think while listening to, but to focus on it, get in another state, a state that can make you cry, or can make you jump for hours.

Just my view.... ok, most of today's sounds don't include the 'another state' part.... but still many of them do...

P.S.: and all this philosophical bull came out while listening to Selu Vibra - Divina :P

i was pondering whether or not i should post a half-arsed dismissive and/or 'witty' reply regarding the fact this topic has been discussed countless times before, but then thought it; may as well take a stab at a serious one.

i like it because it combines melodic, emotional & atmospheric overtones with a driving & energetic backing; it's a multi-purpose, multi-dimensional form of dance music (when done well). i like clubbing to it because should i ever tire of dancing to the beat, there's still the melodic/floaty aspect keeping my attention.
