The croats have been supporting the tennis for the last 15 years... the greeks since Sampras. Its no doubt the doing of the serbs but it takes two to tango. |

Well as a Croat I can say that this is usually over exaggerated by the media. So a few people got into a fight. What the do they want? We were in a God damn war only 15 years ago, and there will always be small pockets of losers who just want to pay out the other country and eventually it turns into a brawl. I don't see the need for the media to sensationalise it and make it out like it's another Balkan war. Is this really front page news these days? It's ing sad, that's what it is.
Then we get people commenting on how this is Australia and people shouldn't bring their problems into Australia (you know who you are). I'm sorry, but problems don't just go away, idiots always remain idiots and is it really necessary to blame both countries because of a handful of people that got in a fight? Oh I'm sorry, the media said it was a riot so we better call it that
That's how we ended up with the real riots in Cronulla because everyone developed a mob mentality and started accusing everyone of everything.
Oh, and the Greeks support the Cypriots since they have no one of their own. |

Not quite that simple.
The Cronulla riots were a result of years of simmering tension
between mostly local anglo-saxons and groups of young middle-eastern
men who were coming down to the beach looking for trouble. If
anything I would say the media was largely to blame, since they
published the SMS messages and created a lot of hype.
Anyway, thats old news. People have moved on..... |

Why is it naive? They still consider Cyprus a part of their country so I don't have a problem with them supporting Baghdatis. It's not like there is no connection between them. |
