Hey.
Iv been running to a problem recording my mixes.
I use my laptop and a simple software to record my mixes from my DJ mixer (DJM 500)
I didnt have any problems until I bought my CDJ 1000 mk2.
The sounds coming from my CDJs are not being recorded...
My turntables are being recorded though...
WHAT IS GOIN ON???
Shouldnt all the outgoing sound from my mixer be recorded to my laptop???
How can I record my turntables + CDJS??

Plz help! Thank you.

wow! now that's a weird problem. make sure you're getting sound on the mixer from the cdjs (check in headphones and that the vu meter leds light up). also worth checking would be that you have your wires in the right place. cdjs should be connected to line or cd connectors at the back of the mixer, turntables to phono. and from your mixer to your computer you should connect the line/record out to line in on your computer. and for recording i'd suggest audacity. great program and it's free. if none of these help, then i'm clueless. :nervous:

Thats the thing...
Everything is hooked up right... I hear the music coming from the CDJ and the lights on mixer light up too... It just doesnt record the damn thing.
I guess i'll try a new program. Thanks alot!

some things I've had a problem with is when I'm recording, I can listen to everything correctly out of the "Amp" output on the mixer cause I can turn the master up enough to hear it correctly, but the "Rec" output on my mixer uses just the sliders on each channel for volume. Check to maker sure that not only are you getting sound, you are getting enough sound. have audacity sitting in the background while recording and watch the waveforms as they show up. you could also try swapping the two different (amp/rec) cables and seeing if that helps narrow the problem down to what I mentioned.

if not, post a list of your equipment including type of mixer/cdj's

Good luck.
