Gears of War: 2 million and going strong

TweeK
So whats:

2,000,000 x $60 = :conf:

Minus the returned, damage, stolen, and messed up copies. Lets just say there was 20,000 copies that fall into this catorgory.

Minus cost to develop game.
Minus cost for advertisements.

Profit?

All this in a 6 week period? I wonder what the numbers will be after the holidays.

Theres also huge potential for downloadable content of Xbox Marketplace for a small fee.(I know i read the article about "Free Content")

The way i see it, Epic Games has it made, untill Halo 3 pistol whips Gears of War out the picture.

At "only" $ 500 000 000

they can work for 416666,6667 hours
or 10416,66667 weeks
or 200,3205128 years

If I had 200 years to develop with a 20 man team, I could do better.

(I hope the other 500 million bucks can cover the accomodation cost + hardware + developer tools and such :) )

I thought the 'billion' came from the decision to put 512 memory in the 360 instead of 256. Reason being that at 256 GOW looked like . Knowing this was a flagship game they ate the cost of upping the memory.
