There goes another year...
It’s definitely been a bit of an unorthodox year for us here at PF HQ. Without a regular home since February we’ve not been able to party with you as regularly as we would have liked, however with a little help from our good friends and Darkbeat and Sunny we’ve still managed to rack up an impressive list of guests. From Omid’s storming set at the start of the year, to Pappa’s homecoming on Anzac Eve, then Petter’s first Australian tour, Anthony back again with Chris Fortier (for one of the best afternoons any of us can remember), right through to the boys from Lexicon Avenue rolling into town with us last week – it’s definitely been an exciting ride.
Once again we find ourselves in December which can mean only one thing – it’s time for another big birthday and Christmas bash to see the year out on December 25th. After taking up the reigns from Substance a number of years ago we’ve tried to continue their tradition of making Christmas night a very progressive one, and this year, after hosting so many talented guests from around the world in the last 12 months, we thought it was the perfect time to look a little homeward again, so we’ve put together an all-star local lineup to help us celebrate our fifth year rocking Melburn town.
Back for the first time since February will be the majority of Private Function’s residents. With Gavin Martin, Big Kev & Steve May back behind the console. Aaron Roach unfortunately cannot be with us this year (perhaps his job application for ‘Chief Elf’ up at the North Pole went better than expected), but filling in will be an old friend of PF who played with us once before when Steve Porter came to town for the first time – Paul Beynon. As a special treat, Dean Millson will be joined this PF Birthday by sometime partner-in-crime Darius Bassiray for a versus set they’ve both been threatening to unleash on PF for sometime now.
But it doesn’t end there. For the first time since the Two Floors Up days, we’ve added a second room. Joining us in there will be Andrew Dannaoui (Dean’s sidekick from Sideways @ Tilt) and a couple of the people at the heart of Melbourne Techno Collective, another of our favourite crews, with Sam McEwin & Craig McWhinney behind the console at PF for the first time.
We set out to put together a lineup that encompasses all of the sounds that are infulencing us at the moment – from tech & progressive house, to breaks and through to techno – progressive in the truest sense of the word. Our very good friends at F4 have gladly provided the location. Now all that’s left is you.
We hope you can join us once again for what is always our favourite night of the year. It seems every birthday we get reacquainted with some old faces we’ve not seen in a while and we’re hoping that will be the case once again.
As always, you can register for the cheap $15 guestlist by heading to http://privatefunction.tranzusion.net or if you’ve got a big list of names, feel free to email us at privatefunction@tranzfusion.net and we’ll get it sorted. General admission will be $20 so make sure you get on the list so you can save that first fiver for the bar.
See you on the dancefloor...
