This is my first post in this Forum, so, this is taking out my virginity.
Im planing on buying a Korg EMX-1 to produce some e-music. What do you guys sugest me to buy along with it to make my productions complete, for an exemple: Korg Kaosspad 2, Akai MPD24, Oxygen 8, Korg KontrolPad, Trigger Finger?
Is it necessary for me to buy a MIDI Controler?
Is it necessary for me to buy an effector?
Please help me! Im totaly newbie!
Thanks! |

Good luck with that.
A hardware only studio will cost alot more than a computer with a sequencer would. (About 2-6 times the price) |

| A sampler would complement the emx well (since that can only use "built-in" sounds). Furthermore monitor speakers are probably a condition for well-mixed music. |

if you're going to be sequencing every note by hand (as on the ESX) you'll probably give up very soon, since it's really time consuming. For a full production setup, I'd rather suggest an Akai MPC-500 or 1000, and a midi keyboard (since then you can at least play some bits with that and then fix them up, instead of having to X0X-sequence them by hand)
(X0X sequencing means that you sequence each note in particular, like "play note C-1, pause, pause, play D-2, keep playing D-2, pause...." it can be great for simple basslines and such, but trying to arrange an entire song this way = not a good idea!)
Get a computer, a more powerful sequencer or an arranger keyboard with a built-in sequencer (the electribe's aren't meant for heavy-duty sequencing, they're only meant to be self-contained grooveboxes) |

I thank everys one opinion, but I think i haven't made me very clear.
I always thought EMX-1 was amazing, as so as the MPD24 (or Korg Kontrol or Trigger Finger), the Korg KaossPad 2... and I know they do different stuff.
If I really buy the EMX-1, wich of this other hardware will be usefull with the Korg Electribe?
Thanks! |

| Will you be happy with a two octave keyboard 6 months down the line?... It might be worth paying a little extra for at least a 49 note keyboard. |
