Godskitchen and Bal en Blanc present Resolution :
A star-studded line-up to accompany
Tiësto on December 31st at the Bell Centre
Montréal, November 22, 2006 – The fever is rising in preparation for the new Resolution event which promises to be one of the most extravagant parties celebrating the New Year Montreal has ever seen. The co-presenters, Godskitchen and Bal en Blanc are just putting the finishing touches to the line-up for this mega-party featuring Tiësto, on December 31st at the Bell Centre (9:00 pm to 11:00 am the next day). The Dutch star will be well supported for this unique happening where we will be able to see other important figures in electronic dance music with Victor Calderone, Max Graham and the duo Second Sun in a live performance. The Montreal DJs Franco Fabi, Danny Torrence and Uppercut, and the Torontonian Maxx Scholz will complete this line-up.
The powerful sound of Victor Calderone
One of the most influential DJ-producers to emerge from the New-York scene during the 90’s, Victor Calderone first got recognition for his innate flair for creating house vocals. From his first titles like “Give it Up” and “Beat me Harder”, to his most recent productions like the mega-hit “Are you Satisfied”, Calderone followed a brilliant path. The man who remixed the Madonnas, Stings, and Ricky Martins of this world has gradually oriented his rhythms towards more underground and progressive territories. A trend that was spectacularly confirmed on his latest mixed CD Resonate, where the tribal sounds are in the foreground. Experienced and eclectic, Victor Calderone certainly knows which strings to pull to make a crowd go wild, whatever the size may be.
The multiple rhythms of Max Graham
For more than a decade now, the British-born Canadian DJ Max Graham is one of the most sought-after DJs on the international scene. A tireless globe-trotter, Graham performed in about 50 countries during his career, galvanizing crowds with his unique approach where progressive streams flirt with pure house, techno and trance. A fan of grooves with rumbling bass, this versatile DJ is also a fearsome producer that made a hit with his famous remix of the classic “Owner of a Lonely Heart” from Yes, and with his own creations including “Airtight” or the recent “Space Disco” and “Cosmic Funk”. Never predictable, his sets have the feel of sound voyages full of surprises.
The luminous performances of Second Sun
Originally from Montreal, the two members of the duo Second Sun have experienced an amazing ascent to quickly establish themselves as some of the dominant figures in the electronic dance music world. Having seen their second composition “Crush” selected by none other than Paul Van Dyk for his album Reflections, and been propelled to the top of the world dance music charts, Antoine and Adam worked twice as hard to prolong this success with their first album Inside Out, released in 2005. Still not satisfied with their already enviable position, the two partners continued on the road to success with a live show that with its exceptional energy, confirmed what a lot of people already knew… the guys from Second Sun are in a class of their own.
The passion of Franco Fabi
From his beginnings at club Ilume to his triumph in front of 7,000 people at the Bell Centre for New Year’s in 2006, Franco Fabi used his passion for house rhythms to seduce the Montreal nights, the US or European crowds with remarkable effectiveness. At work on his first production album coming out soon, this DJ continues on his irresistible ascent with his mix of sounds using deep pulsating bass and electro frequencies.
The intensity of Danny Torrence
A rising star on the Montreal and international scenes, Danny Torrence began his DJ career in the mid 90’s developing his talent at clubs like Sessions, Zoo Bar and 737. Inspired by Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Louie Vega and Roger Sanchez, he took no time to carve out a solid reputation by becoming resident in many important Montreal establishments like Stereo and Living. Intense and eclectic, Danny Torrence’s performances stimulate the senses with a mix of tech-house and tribal music.
The mission of Maxx Scholz
A native of Munich, Germany, Maxx Scholz didn’t take any time making his mark on Canadian soil where he started the influential radio web club 246.com entirely geared toward electronic music. Resident at many well-known clubs in Toronto and the rest of the country, this inspired DJ pursues his mission to the rhythm of house music and progressive sounds.
The impact of Uppercut
Distinguishing himself by his unique sound that privileges progressive rhythms of house, this DJ officiated at the after hours club MP3 on the south shore for more than 5 years. With his colleague Creator, he is also the instigator of the popular Ravemontreal events that are associated with the site by the same name. Today, Uppercut continues to create a distinctive impact on the Red-Lite dancefloor where he is a resident every Friday and Sunday.

I am :gsmile:
I see Vancouver's starting to get massives.. my old hometown. I look forward to when the city does like Montreal and has only one room, one huge party (except of Bal en Blanc, two huge rooms of 15000 peeps). The NYE one at the Pacific Coliseum there doesn't measure up.. yet. |
