Goa Pete (Goatrancemission)
Goa Pete is Puneet Krishna (Pete) originally from New Delhi (India), visited Goa for the first time in 1989. This became a yearly ritual for him, attending the wild and crazy parties, which eventually changed his life completely. He embarked upon a quest for some good "Goan Trance", eventually moving to Goa with his equipment and taking up a guesthouse on the beaches of Goa. He was playing at his guesthouse every evening in Goa. We met Pete at the club in 2001. He had just moved to Vancouver from Goa, hence the name Goa Pete. Searching for a psy trance club in Vancouver, his search naturally ended at Organix. Playing some full on maddening sets at the club and outdoor parties, he is one dj who loves playing nighttime thumpers. Pete also helps out big time with the club decorations, and after laying down some wicked sets, became a member of Organix.

I was at Organix for the first time last weekend, and it blew me away. It was by far the best trance event I've been to in the past few years. The vibe is great, people are friendly, the crowd is really varied and the music was rockin'!
I can't say enough about the vibe. There were people of all types and ages and there didn't appear to be any stand/model or posturing. I think psytrance has a small enough following that all the people that go to these events are into it because their common interest is the love of the music.
Dancing to psy is amazing; you really can get lost in all the layers and just let yourself go. |
