I've been camping out at Best Buy since Wed morning at 11am. I'm second in line, and I will be getting the third PlayStation 3. The store I'm at wil be getting 26 of the, 20 of the Pro $600 units and 6 of the base $500 units.
I took 2 days off of work for this. It rained about 1.5 inches the entire day yesterday, all night and until noon today. More rain expected tonight. There is a demo unit in the store and it's everything I expected and more. All in all, still well worth the wait! |

My memory is going bad (no comment) but I'm just curious...can anyone remember if there was this much of an anticipation like there was when the PS2 was coming out? |

yes, i camped for a ps2 at circuit city, this year i just pre-orderd one from gamestop(had to camp for that too though) |

I'd say, even more than the PS2. Since said console was released, a lot of new gamers have entered the fray (especially due to titles like Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, Guitar Hero, Katamari Daimacy and GTAIII). Sony has made itself a... pretty good name with its console. |

Too true. I love Sony to death, to say the least. I was happy as hell when I got my PSP, even though they're not many games for it but for so many other uses it just rocks!
As for me, when PS2 came out, I didn't do anything. I waited for the hype and price to go down. When it eventually did, I bought my system for $199 and it included Gran Turismo 3.
Now I need a NEW PS2. The vibration function doesn't work on any of my Dual-Shock controllers. :mad: :whip:

| My brother works @ a Best Buy. Since I don't have the money yet, I'll have to wait until I can afford one in December. How? Well since they cut the units down to 150,000, there will be more shipments before the end of the year. And if SCEA keeps their promise...There should be 1,000,000 units before the end of the year. I think my brother will be well informed when they get more shipments. |
