Beatmatching goes out of sync everytime
|
| The Drow |
I mixed two tracks and I tried to beatmatch the second track while the first one was playing.
I got it beatmatched and then it went totally out of sync again.
I turned the wheel left (donnu how it is called in english) and it was beatmatched again so I raised the pitch a bit but then it went out of sync again.
There was no vinyl noise at the end of the track (so it can't be recorded of vinyl and there is no reason that the track wouldn't be recorded at the same bpm).
What could be the problem?
I used a old pair of CDJ100, could that be the problem?

this problem has been covered in other threads, use the search button!...
how long have you been mixing for? Typically beatmaching is never a 100% exact process so if you're new to all this you need to spend more time practicing and it will click. also, some tracks dont have natural tempo's and constantly shift throughout the track or sometimes just in the ending. the track you have is vinyl? if you have BPM analyzer watch it to see if the track is changing tempo |

It's on cdjs. the track shifts all the way through but it shouldn't since it's on the same bpm. The tracks were beatmatched for two seconds before it shifted.
I've been mixing since july.

| cdj bpm meters arent to be trusted!! use your ears, if its not syncing then the tempo is fluctuating...it takes getting used to when you have tracks like this but thats why its important to know your tracks.... |

| If the track is download from filesharing thigns like limewire it has a good chance that it will have variations in its speed because of the dodgy recording process. |

If it was beatmatched for two seconds then it wasn't beatmatched at all. Just keep practicing it took me a bit over a year to become half decent at beatmatching.
And don't look at the BPM on the CDJs it will just throw you off they aren't anywhere near accurate enough to mix with. |

I agree, the best way to learn to beatmatch is do it by ear, never use the BPM counter, I learned on a set of Stanton STR8-60's and the motors were shot, it is a fustracting process but when u get it is all smooth sailing from there :);) |

| You have to more carefully adjust for drift between the two tracks I think. |

| this sounds normal. Try correcting it on the fly with the pitch slider or you finger |

when youve beatmatched the track (or atleast you think you did) let it play for like 20 secs, if you have to slow the track down a bit, lower the pitch with a little bit (if youre mixing longen you will know how much you have to adjust the pitch)
just a try error cycle
if you can get the track to play 20secs or so in sync in you phones it is good and you can mix it in, if you have to adjust just a tiny little bit after these 20 secs, DON'T touch the pitch, just correct with the pitch bend or platter till its in sync again |

| i got big pants |
doesn't throwing in a track on say the 4th beat instead of the 1st beat also effect it???
a buddy of mine did that out of habit and constantly was adjusting his pitch...brought it up to him and now he's beatmatching almost perfectly everytime |
