Sure! I dont think theres much scope anywhere in the country these days for putting on small nights with all unknowns, I know a few people who've done it but it never lasts long cos they just cant get the punters in. I guess its just not like the old days in the early 90's where these small nights really took off.
I reckon a decent night would have to incorporate more than just trance, any of the hard dance genres would add a bit of spice now n then.
Its just so ing hard getting a club, I tried to get Annabels 3 years ago and told them I was gonna book Ferry Corsten and Jules to play the opening night. Even that didn't encourage them let me do it and I'd spent 3 weeks putting together a business plan. Highly frustrating!!!! |

Funny enough while we're on the subject, I just heard from one of my mates who is putting on a small clubnight/party thing in the function room of a small pub. Sounds like its gonna be propper old school and dirty, only thing is they've asked me to DJ (of course) but it looks like I'm on my own.
Anyone local interested in laying down some beats?
Its close to Sunderland Uni so bound to be quite busy with all the students. |
