| Sean, not saying you specifically but how often do you see other trance DJs at some smaller events? |

julian has a good point, unles a dj is playing at a party or is buddy buddy with the promoters, he won't usually show up for another promoter's event. things have been like this for as long as i can remember tho so it's nothing that really surprises me.
it is a proven fact that things in vancouver are not at all as they are in other cities in canada, as was earlier pointed out by lisa.
but, since we're stuck with a mediocre scene, we probably shouldn't bitch too much but take action and attend cyber on wednesday nights when possible. i have noticed sean's track selection take a slightly different direction from what he played 1-2 years ago, i am in fact curious to see sean behind the decks now playing perry o'neil and such :) |

I have been playing a few newer tracks.
I really like some of the tracks danny used to play... not all of them but a few really kick ass.
as for julian, he is right. not alot of support. I try my best, but cant always make it out as often as i want. others are even less. |

What I've always found strange is the lack of involvement of local trance DJs in Vancouver in the scene. Don't see them supporting shows and rarely see them out unless it's a show they are playing at. |
I always found that strange too. I wondered where particular faces were at really good shows in the past if they love trance that much. There's probably a lot of reasons. But...
In Vancouver it seems to matter more who your friends are (if the promoter / dj's are your friends) than anything else. Sadly.

Thanks Sean, I'll throw some respect your way for that.

Oh yeah sorry, a couple more suggestions (I know I said I'd get out! haha):
For me I don't wanna go to so sleep late (like nothing past Midnight) and be tired at work on Thursday as with probably a lot of people. It'd be cool if it started early (8pm) and end early (12:30pm). I know it's a club and that might not work but... Kind of like Tribeca used to be. It used to pack up around 8 to 11. I mean it is a Wednesday night. Then promote is more as a listening room, or lounge, than a club night er something. That'd be cool but I think it's unheard of.
My next question is, does the owner/manager of the night at the club care that much? A whole nother issue/. |

Yes you did :) Essentially just adding on to your point slightly. :)
As for those CDRs, sounds good...Jimmy and I are a little ways off from finishing that new tune which I mentioned a few posts back, but we are getting close, we're back in the studio tonight so hopefully we'll have a finished version for hammering out hopefully by the end of the month :D |
